I'm knee deep in a couple books about the origins of humans and other hominids. And while there's some fun stuff there (it's been confirmed almost everybody has Neandertal genes as pert of their genome, some populations up to 10%), it's not really as striking a picture for a Hamdam lead-in as the one above. Every great long once in a while, with the history of mixing of races (especially in racially charged slave areas), we get a "black" child born to "white" parents or vice versa. Sandra Laing is the girl in the picture, those are her biological parents in 1960s South Africa where she was expelled from her "white" school because of her completely "black" features. She had a movie made about her (SKIN) that I'm not sure many have seen, but she's the most prominent example of a rare and fascinating phenomenon.
