1) This is a special FU jNW question to Hamdam regular and trivia master MNWildcat in honor of his team's disastrous win over our beloved Hawkeyes: everybody probably knows that jNorthwestern is the only long-standing power conference team to never make the men's basketball NCAA tournament field, but did you know how futile that history really is(http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northwestern_Wildcats_men's_basketball)? Well, here we go: in three disastrous parts:
a) Is the last time jNW won the B10 before or after Black Tuesday (10/29/1929)?
b) Is the last time jNW finished higher than 4th in the B10 before or after the MLK assassination (4/3/1968)?
c) Is the first time jNW ever had a 20-win season before or after 9/11(2001)?
NOTE: You really should click the Wikipedia link above. All of that shameful history is basically the entirety of Wikipedia's intro to jNorthwestern Men's Basketball. Hilarious.
2) Iowa Basketball from 1979-1999 (Lute-Raveling-Dr. Tom) had storied success - only 5 years missing the NCAA Tourney in that era. Even more impressive than that many Tourney bids is the number of NBA Draft picks Iowa had during that era: 25 in total, 13 in the first two rounds. Our Second Rounders were: JR Koch (1999), Ryan Bowen (1988), Russ Millard (1996), Les Jepsen (1990), Ed Horton (1989), Jeff Moe (1988), Brad Lohaus (1987), Greg Stokes (1985). All great players, but let's name the great ones that got drafted in Round 1 during that time. To help, the year of each of those players to name: 1998, 1993, 1989, 1989, 1980. http://statsheet.com/mcb/teams/iowa/nba_draft
3) True or False: Fuck Tennessee*
*Tennessee Williams is awesome and exempted from this.
