First let's start off with Paul Rhoads using his LOUD voice to let you know he has PASSION!
Not much to add to that rant. I would be more upset if Ferentz didn't call the top recruit in the state. Is that tampering? No. A verbal commitment means absolutely nothing. Ferentz has never said anything bad about Rhoads and continually praises ISU even when they go 3-9. The kid went on a trip to Notre Dame after he 'committed' to ISU so that makes you think he was at least exploring the possibility of going to another school. Moving on to @AllenLazard, I include his twitter name so you can see it first hand. It doesn't take a lot to offend someone who thinks very highly of themselves.
Iowa States acting like Allen's Jesus or something... #Overrated— Rico Love (@SmurfyLee2) February 6, 2014
Dowling Catholic defensive back Rico Gafford tweeted this and that was all he needed to get Lazard going.
@SmurfyLee2 don't even trip Rico. You couldn't even lock me up 1on1 you needed help. Plus you ain't even D1 so I don't know why you talkin— Allen Lazard (@AllenLazard) February 6, 2014
Ok he defended himself. I mean he probably killed that juco kid when they went 1 on 1.
@AllenLazard I chose to go Juco, and when I did go 1on1 with you how many catches you have??? 2..— Rico Love (@SmurfyLee2) February 6, 2014
Wait... what? He had two catches against him? That can't be right.
@SmurfyLee2 that's cuz they threw me the ball 2 times...— Allen Lazard (@AllenLazard) February 6, 2014
Yep I guess that is right. But I mean, they only threw it to him two times. Well I guess Gafford will just end this back and forth with a good luck to the opponent that he beat. No there is more.
Wahoo, that's the ulitmate trump card! I mean HIGH SCHOOL ALL-AMERICAN. That is guaranteed success. Just ask Dan Doering.
We a'int talking about the team!! I have a feeling things like this might be why Rhoads is going to keep Lazard away from the media for his first year.
@SmurfyLee2 we ain't talkin bout team! We talkin bout individual. And you got nothin to compare to me— Allen Lazard (@AllenLazard) February 6, 2014
This is pretty much the end of it. I guess some people are pointing out the Gafford only played at Dowling for a year, so saying team first is a little hypocritical, but it's not the first time a Catholic school picked up a kid for his senior year.
All of this coming from two players who haven't set a foot on a college football field yet. Credit Ernst Brun, Jr. a former Cyclone TE for putting that in perspective.
