Howdy BHGPers. Cornshoe here with my recap of my trip to the Outback Bowl. For those of you that didn't make the trip down, you missed a great time. There were only two aspects that the Outback folks couldn't control, the weather and the game outcome. Sure it was raining and we lost, but other than that, everything was first rate. You have got to make it to a bowl game if you get the chance.
We had thousands of Iowa fans at Clearwater Beach on the 30th. You couldn't go five feet without seeing Black and Gold and hearing "Go Hawks!". Yes, I went as Hawkeye Elvis and yes, I managed to pose for a few photos as well.
Towards the end of the day, I was ready to leave and found a couple of ladies who seemed willing to give the King a ride back to Tampa.
Sure it was raining. But that didn't stop us from tailgating like our lives depended on it. I couldn't spend too much time out in the parking lots pre-game however as I had some important business to attend to on the field.
Okay, so the first half wasn't what we were hoping for, but I had a feeling as our Hawkeyes were about to take the field for the second half that we still had some fight left in us.
So now we can turn our full attention to Hoopyball and getting our boys a trip to the NCAA tournament. Good night 2013 Football season, you were a fun one.
