It has taken several days to quit vibrating long enough to type a few words. My title refers to the NIU fake punt at a crucial point in time with a narrow lead. This coaching staff needs a decision card much like the one they use to decide on going for 1 or 2 after a touchdown to sniff out possible fake punts or onside kicks. Consider the fact that everyone punts the fucking ball 400 feet high all but eliminating the possibility for a return anyway. So why if there is even a 10% chance for a fake punt don't they leave a couple of defenders out of the crack return setup to prevent some 6.0 in the forty punter from running 40 yards. (Flashback to Wisconsin a few years back).
There are shitkickers playing the pea and shell game at carnivals catching on quicker than those dozen or so coaches in the press box. You would think one of them might have sniffed out the possibility. This in my opinion was the death blow Saturday, not that out route and the pass thrown with the velocity of a daisy air rifle.
