For a program that finished 4-8 in 2012 and is continually progressing this season, Jake Rudock has been a bright spot.
Rudock has been a solid decision maker for the most part, has extended plays on the run, and has shown he is able to maneuver the offense in a variety of ways: no-huddle, hurry up, shotgun, under center, power I-formation.
After doing a bit of research, the Weston, Fla., native has accumulated a package of stats after his first six starts that stand out. Here are Rudock’s numbers compared to the previous two Iowa QBs from 2008-12 after six games, particularly a noticeable similarity between Rudock and Ricky Stanzi.
Not saying Rudock is going to be Stanzi, who went 26-9 for the Hawkeyes. Small sample size here. But the outlook for Rudock appears positive.
