Well, Iowa fell a step or two short of playing in this game (alas), but we do get round three between Michigan State and Ohio State instead. They played a doozy of a game last Sunday; hopefully this clash lives up to that one. The winner of this game might get a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, too, so there's slightly more on the line than just a spiffy trophy and an automatic bid neither team needs. In the fun factoid department, Ohio State is bidding to become the first B1G team to ever win this tournament three years in a row, while Michigan State is somehow making their first title game appearance since 2000. Hell, Iowa's appeared in the title game three times since then and we've spent the better part of the last five years in basketball purgatory.
Feel free to discuss the day's other championship games -- SEC (Kentucky v. Vanderbilt), ACC (North Carolina v. Florida State), or Atlantic 10 (St. Bonaventure v. Xavier) -- in this thread as well. The SEC game is on ABC at noon, the ACC game is on ESPN at noon, and the A10 game is on CBS at noon. The B1G game is on CBS at 2:30pm CT.
We'll probably do an open thread later for the actual bracket selection brouhaha later on. Don't forget -- the NIT Selection Show is on ESPNU at 8pm CT, so that's when we'll find out Iowa's final hoopyball fate. (Unless it leaks on Twitter beforehand. Which never happens. Nope.)
Anyway, have fun and be good. The usual open thread rules apply.
