First view of Nic Shimonek

New poster here, giving it a shot. Watched Texas Division 2A Level II Championship Game played tonight at Cowboy Stadium near Dallas. Mildred (Shimonek's team) was pounded by their opponent, by 35 - 40 points. After the first series I thought both offensive and defensive lines would dominate the game for the opponent, and they did. I think the first half had negative rushing yardage for Shimonek's team, as there was usually more defensive players in Mildred's backfield after the ball was snapped than there were Mildred players. Having said that, Shimonek was impressive. Despite running for his life most of the game, he was pretty elusive and never seemed to panic. Threw the ball away when he needed to, had a beautiful 50+ yard pass spot on in the second half, lots of crisply thrown balls, almost always under a lot of pressure. Didn't freeze up, still looked for and found receivers. I believe he rushed for 800+ yards this season, and picked up a fair amount of yardage himself at times. Reminded me of Stanzi -not the quick step, rambles in his run but knows where he wants to go, picks a good route to run. Had several dropped passes (sound familiar?) but I can't remember much in the way of poorly thrown balls. Would love to see him with play without having someone chasing him at the moment of the snap.
