I know that some of you know me and some of you don't, but I've been a pretty regular poster for almost a year now, and i thought that this would be a good time to do my first fan post.

See, I live in central Wisconsin. Wausau, to be exact. And let's face it. There's not a lot of Hawkeye related activity that goes on here, except for the occasional remark about Brett Bielema's tattoo. Last Thursday, however, I received this email at work:

A special appearance by Mike Daniels, Defensive End of the Green Bay Packers will take place on Tuesday, December 11 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the East Bay Retail Store.

As you may have guessed, I was thrilled! I mean, here is a chance to meet a Hawkeye who is currently playing in the NFL! And, he scored a touchdown sunday!

So tonight was finally the night, and my wife and kids decided to accompany me to the Eastbay store to meet him. I had a picture of him as a Hawkeye that I wanted to be signed, and the kids were going to get the standard issue photo signed by him. When we pulled into to the store, it wasn't very busy.

Could it have been cancelled?

Did he not show up?

I peeked inside and saw him in the back of the store. There were about 10 people in line in front of us. I was really excited! When it was finally our turn, he was very nice and was happy to see my Iowa jacket. I asked him if he had any eligibility left, because we could have used him this year, haha. Anyway, we were allowed a photo, and there was also a photographer there who takes a picture and emails them to you. Well, here's my photo:

Nice. Hopefully the picture they email me will be slightly better. Mike and my kids look good, though. All in all, it was a pretty good night and I'm glad my family was there to meet Mike with me.
