My father-in-law writes an angry letter to the AD, gets in-person meeting

Living in Minneapolis and being married to a gopher, I get my fill of gopher news daily. Some of you may not be aware that the Gophers spent $800,000 last month to buy out of a home-and-home series with University of North Carolina for 2013 and 2014. Kill knows/feels he needs to load up on Mac-level cupcakes for a few more years before taking on BCS-level competition.

My father-in-law and his wife are DIE-HARD gopher fans and alums. He sent a strongly worded letter to new Athletic Director Norwood Teague after the announcement, and now they've been invited to a one-on-one meeting with Teague and Football Administrator David Benedict tomorrow afternoon.

We like to discuss here the virtues and pitfalls of playing cupcakes in the non-con. I look forward to passing along to all of you the outcome of their meeting. Personally, I'm kind of impressed that the new Gopher Athletic Director is taking time to deal with the flack his constituents (that's what I'd call an alum and season ticketholder, I guess) in person.
