CHICAGO, IL -- Rumors have now been confirmed that Jim Delaney is putting the finishing touches on a few new deals to improve the B1G. These moves are unprecedented, coming on the heels of adding Maryland and Rutgers on consecutive days this week.
The B1G is headquartered in Chicago and Commish Delaney decided to give the conference more prominence in it's home city by purchasing and renaming the Sears Tower.
"We figured this was a no-brainer," said Delaney. "We are the B1G, and we need to express that in a way that commands attention. The B1G F***ing Tower will give us the type of exposure that people will begin associating our brand with."
Much speculation has pointed to the idea that this week Delaney will unveil a new venture each day, each one better than the previous.
"Believe me when I say Maryland and Rutgers are nice, but we have bigger fish on the line and are reeling them in," said Delaney while simultaneously grinning and throwing darts at a picture of a cartoonish picture of a red elephant in his office.
The B1G F***ing Tower will be the new facility headquarters to the B1G and according to Delaney will be outfitted with a giant antenna that is capable of transmitting TV signals as far as Sydney, Australia.
"As you've probably heard, we are trying to expand the BTN footprint," Delaney quipped.
This reporter inquired to Delaney about what we could possibly expect in the days to come regarding further B1G expansion.
"I'd probably be letting the cat out of the bag if I mentioned B1G News Channel," he said.
He would not elaborate further on the comment, just giggled and pointed to a crudely drawn target with barely-legible letters CNN (pock-marked with dart wounds).
