Runner Rating: 2011 (Updated weekly)

For those of you who don't know what 'runner rating' is, you can see my posts here an here. The first article is kind of the set up, and the second is the tweaked and more accurate formula I will use here.

I thought there were enough people who were interested in this 'runner rating' formula that I would post weekly stats of the top Iowa rusher, B1G rusher and national rusher (NOTE: The "top" rusher of the week may not be the most efficient. A guy with 60 yards rushing with 3 TD's may have better efficiency, but not a better game than a guy with 120 yards, 2 TD with 6 YPC. So don't be surprised if the nation's "Top rusher" isn't as high as maybe the B1G's). If any of you object to this idea, don't read it. Sorry. I just like doing this stuff. So, off we go...

Week 1:

Mika'il McCall: 160.06; 61 yards, 0 TD, 0 FUM, 8/9

Equivalent Efficient Passer: Ryan Nassib, Syracuse: 160.20; 178 yards, 20/28, 3 TD, 0 INT

Marcus Coker: 45.95; 41 yards, 0 TD, 1.5 FUM, 6/11

Equivalent Efficient Passer: Clayton Moore, Akron: 53.4; 54 yards, 6/16, 0 TD, 1 INT

We saw the good and bad side this week. The good? Mika'il McCall. Pretty efficient runner with some good speed. See the equivalent passer? I want that guy every week in running form. The bad? Well, first off Marcus Coker looked horrific. He had 5 rushes go for less than 2 yards and fumbled twice (EDITED FORMULA: Fumble recovered by team= ".5", lost fumble= "1"). The even worse? AIRBHG took the one good thing away from us. It would shock me to see Coker struggle like this again, but it's a little scary to have a backup like McCall go down like that when there are no proven backs behind Coker.

B1G top rusher: Taylor Martinez, Nebraska: 200.92; 135 yards, 3 TD, 1.5 FUM, 11/19

Equivalent Efficient Passer: Nick Foles, Arizona: 202.6; 412 yards, 5 TD, 0 INT, 34/42

National top rusher: Malcom Agnew, Oregon State: 198.23; 223 yards, 3 TD, 1 FUM, 29/33

Equivalent Efficient Passer: Nathan Scheelhaase, Illinois: 195.8; 267 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 16/23

Week 2 Preview:

Steele Jantz, Iowa State157.00; 80 yards, 2 TD, 0 FUM, 12/20
