Seth Olsen picked up by Indy

that makes 3 hawks on the team. Too bad they’ll be terrible for as long as Peyton is out.

Vikes cut Olsen to make room for Reisner, right?

I’d heard they were happy with both guys. I guess there’s only so much room, though.

yep

Colts cut an interior lineman they’d kept the last few years to make room for Olsen. He’s at least backup caliber in the Colts and Vikes estimation.

Clark had a sick one handed grab, but not a ton of production since Kerry Collins doesn’t know the offense and was really rusty.

So, does anyone want to go to the game w/ me on Saturday? 60 bucks face value.

The Nephew has box seats to the Sporting KC v. Canada, or some crap like that, game so he can no longer go (he had them b/4 Saturday’s fiasco) and my sister is a cheap ass that doesn’t want to buy her ticket. Sis is going w/ me as of now but I’d rather go w/ someone that wants to be there.

Oh and my mom said my sister doesn’t like driving in IC, to which I replied it isn’t like driving in mid-town Manhattan. Good grief, I thought this sister was the normal one.

Yep, I'm a Northern (Rambler should be proud).

I’m parking at The Final Gun’s so I’m planning on getting there early. I’ll be up there Friday night at The Vine, or so I’ve been told. I guess everyone should keep their phone’s handy so we can all meet up via the twitters.

Are you driving down Saturday morning?

by Carfino'sWay on Sep 12, 2011 9:17 PM CDT up reply actions

Yep, from the QC

Kiddo’s got a 6:30p soccer game, so we won’t get to my parents till late. We were in IC by 8:30, I think. We’ll see how early we leave this Sat…

Enjoy the Vine! Haven’t had a night out in IC since 2007. Was supposed to do a big girls weekend 9/30, but it got nixed because too many girls were traveling in for game weekends/high school reunions, etc., & couldn’t make that weekend work. Now we’re planning to party it up the weekend of the spring game. It better not freaking snow!

Stinks that you are getting such a late start Friday. I’m hoping to leave by 2-3.

I'm taking the glass half-full view:

We left at 3:30p 2 weeks ago & didn’t make it to the QC till almost 7:15p because of all the Fri/holiday weekend traffic. Hopefully we’ll make it in closer to 2.5 hours this time.

The Vine reminds me of Chris Street, tho I’m not entirely sure why. I don’t have any specific memories of him being there. I think maybe we saw his girlfriend there not too long after the accident. Odd how the mind works sometimes.

This is true. Your traffic is MUCH worse than mine.

So, for those of you far along in A Song of Ice and Fire...

I’ve spoiled a few things for myself because I’m an idiot. And by a few I mean a lot…

It seems that the story takes a bunch of really strange (and not good) turns and the writing starts to get a little out of hand. I know it’ll still be pretty solid, but is it still worth totally investing in?

That's good.

Cause I’m legit worried. I hate it when fantasy or sci-fi novels start to just do whatever the fuck they want to with the limits of the world they’ve created simply because they’re fantasy or sci-fi novels.

It’s why I love Harry Potter so much. And why I’ll never apologize for that. The door is left completely open from the very beginning, so even when wacky shit goes down it seems normal, especially since Harry is almost always experiencing it for the first time.

I don;t think GRRM breaks any of his own rules, really, but you do start to learn a lot more about the realm and about the story’s characters, which causes lots of doors to open, new things to happen, etc.

Peyton is out of the hospital

and it sounds like it’s going to be hard to keep him off the field all year. Requested they take the bone graft needed for the surgery from his hip rather than using bone from a cadaver because while it’s far more painful the recovery time is shorter for the graft taken from the hip.
