We all know of Iowa's stretch of not losing by double digits during this span of 3 seasons, but I was curious to see how Iowa favored in defeating its opponents during this stretch.
2008 - 7 victories of 10+ points, 3 were against non BCS/ISU opponents
2009 - 6 victories, of 10+, 1 was to a non BCS/ISU opponent (3 were exactly 10 points)
2010 - 6 victories of 10+, 3 were against non BCS/ISU opponents (1 was exactly 10 points)
So since 2008, Iowa has won 19 games by 10+ points (53% of their opponents, W or L). 7 of the 10+ wins were against non BCS/ISU opponents, equalling 37% of their W's of 10+. 21% of their W's of 10+ were exactly 10 points. Iowa had 27 Victories over the 3 season span, so 70% of their W's were by 10 points or more.
And a quick comparison to Ohio St:
2008: 9 W's of 10+
2009: 9 W's of 10+
2010: 10 W's of 10+
28 of 39 games won by 10+, 71%.
9 of their 28 W's were against non BCS opponents, so 32% of their double digit W's
Not too shabby considering how relatively conservative Iowa's offense can seem to be at times. Hopefully something like this hasn't been posted before, and if you feel like adding on to the info, or running your own stuff with the data provided, please feel free to do so.
