Iowa Pro Day Notable Results
Rittenberg recently linked to an NFL.com blog post about Iowa pro day, and some of the numbers posted on the tests players did were interesting.
Here's the link: http://blogs.nfl.com/2011/03/21/clayborn-stanzi-improve-stock-at-iowa-pro-day/
The first thing you'll notice obviously is that Clayborn and Stanzi improved their stock, so sweet. That's awesome. But some of the stats were kind of head scratching. Clayborn only had 17 bench press reps of 225 pounds. That's less than average for Defensive Ends. But get this: Stanzi didn't bench press at the combine, but he benched 16 reps at pro day. That's the same amount as Ballard and only one less than Clayborn. Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't that unusual? And also, this surprises me because from one of the pictures Stanzi's Ex-Girlfriend posted on the Marchifornication article between Stanzi and Fran (Go Stanzi), Stanzi didn't look like he had huge pecs or anything. Oh well. I'm being frivolous.Another thing of note is that Ballard again blew away Stanzi on the 40 times, and Sash posted a 4.61. We didn't know this before, but now we do. I'm pretty sure that's a little less than average for safeties, but I digress.
Good luck for Iowa players come draft day.

Re: bench press
I don’t know any real details or anything, but I do know that it’s been reported in the past that the Iowa S&C program does not stress bench press nearly as heavily as do other programs. So I think the “low” bench numbers for Iowa players is pretty common.
I'm giving up Lent for Science.
Really? I think the low numbers show further proof
that everyone on Iowa’s S&C program needs to be fired immediately! They hurt our kids and make them weak at the same time!

And slow
Don’t forget slow. They are also probably to blame for the recent trend of short armed freaks coming out of the program. THEY MUST GO RIGHT NOW!!!!
Oh, hey, Kyle
Now that I found one of your posts, I think I should let you know (In case you didn’t know already) that Along the Olentangy does not approve of your use of subject lines.
So, fire you, Kyle. Fire you..

I looked for you in the forest.
But you weren’t there.
I looked for you when watching Strangers on a Train – but you weren’t there!
I looked for you here. And found love.

I'm guessing Waiting for McCann't
is a lot shorter than Waiting for Godot. Cause McCann’t shows up
It never gets to be easy.
Why the fuck doesn't it ever get to be easy?

It's all about
technique and triceps in the bench much more than pecs. And Sash ran pretty much the same times at the combine. I’m surprised Clayborn “raised his stock” so much at Pro Day. Must have looked really good in position drills. I’m still hoping Ballard can slide into the back end of the first round as well, but probably won’t happen.

Size Lies
A trainer at my gym is an average looking sized guy, about 6’ tall. I’ve seen him do 225 ten times, with what seemed like a little gas left in the tank.

Heard Ballard and Tarp flew
could get Ballard back near the 1st round and should get Tarp at least some camp invites as a ST ace.

The longer your arms are
the harder bench press is
No kidding! My range of motion is over 18" and my brother's is maybe 12. Needless to say, he benches about 100 pounds more than I do
Think of me like Yoda. But instead of being little and green, I wear suits and I'm awesome. I'm your bro- I'm Broda!
yeah.. i'm just short of 6'7.. it is not fair

You're on the better side of unfair
