Rittenberg recently linked to an NFL.com blog post about Iowa pro day, and some of the numbers posted on the tests players did were interesting.
Here's the link: http://blogs.nfl.com/2011/03/21/clayborn-stanzi-improve-stock-at-iowa-pro-day/
The first thing you'll notice obviously is that Clayborn and Stanzi improved their stock, so sweet. That's awesome. But some of the stats were kind of head scratching. Clayborn only had 17 bench press reps of 225 pounds. That's less than average for Defensive Ends. But get this: Stanzi didn't bench press at the combine, but he benched 16 reps at pro day. That's the same amount as Ballard and only one less than Clayborn. Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't that unusual? And also, this surprises me because from one of the pictures Stanzi's Ex-Girlfriend posted on the Marchifornication article between Stanzi and Fran (Go Stanzi), Stanzi didn't look like he had huge pecs or anything. Oh well. I'm being frivolous.Another thing of note is that Ballard again blew away Stanzi on the 40 times, and Sash posted a 4.61. We didn't know this before, but now we do. I'm pretty sure that's a little less than average for safeties, but I digress.
Good luck for Iowa players come draft day.
