Stanzi Possibility Versus Packers
Sources indicated that Stanzi might get the nod this weekend to start against the Packers. Not a huge surprise considering the abysmal play of Palko, along with the firing of Haley (which very well could have been the result of his decision to keep playing Palko). None the less, it's still interesting to see the possibility of Stanzi starting against the undefeated Packers.

Undefeated no longer, Pack!
The power of Stanzi cannot be denied.

AHHHH CONFLICT!
As a Stanzi fan I want him to do well enough that they don’t lose confidence in him. I know he won’t lose confidence in himself. As a Packers fan, we’re potentially doing something historical here.
The GB defense is not quite where it was at last year, with crazy blitzing schemes and forcing mistakes. If you account for Matthews and don’t throw any STANZIBALLS, you can score some points on them. Discount Double Check should be able to pick the KC defense apart though-GB wins in a shootout, and I return to Team America following the game.

I feel your pain in this conflict
My love for Stanzi as a former Hawkeye runs deep and I want him to do well, but as you mentioned, the Pack are on a historical run right now and I do love the Green Bay Packers, I want them to see this through and go undefeated and win the Super Bowl.

Yep, conflict here as well
But I get to witness this epic clash first hand. I said this in some other thread, but all I want for Christmas is to see Stanzi play for the Chiefs and a Packer win while I attend the game on Sunday.

Oh, and I have the Packers defense on my fantasy team
While they tend to give up points, they make up for it with sacks, INTs, etc. They rarely yield less than 10 points for me (actually, I don’t think they have all year but I’d have to check).

Lucky!!
I wish I could be there, especially if Stanzi does get the nod to start.

Lucky
My KC people were asking me about that game before the season started, I thought maybe they had designs on getting me tickets as an early Christmas present. But if they are, they’re running out of time to surprise me…

No reason for GB fans to worry.
no matter how well Stanzi does, the KC offense just isn’t going to keep up in a shootout with the Packers. Besides, this would be a rookie QB in his first start. That usually doesn’t end with better than “he did OK”.

I'm surprised by this
I guess Orton is either “too” injured or the Chiefs feel like they need to see Stanzi now and figure out if he’s worth keeping around, and then they can showcase Orton if Stanzi flops. They paid a lot for Orton and never got anything out of him so I thought they might try to showcase Orton for a trade or see if he can be the back-up next year, but the reality might be he has no more value after this year. Plus, for all I know, he’s a FA after this year.

Orton is indeed a Free Agent after this season.
I think the Chiefs paid something like $2.5 million (of his remaining contract). So $2.5 million per play at this point.
Orton to start?
According to ESPN, Palko will not get the start no matter what. If Orton is able to play through his finger injury, than he will. If Orton won’t play, Crennel has said that Stanzi will get the start.

How awesome would it be
if Stanzi starts, and doesn’t look bad, and wins against the Pack?
That would be so awesome.

Tebow is the future of the NFL
although, probably not the future of the Broncos.

Playing Palko for those games got him fired early
there was literally no reason not to try out Stanzi. Palko sucked, and even if stanzi doesnt work out there was no way he was going to be any worse.

I'm stoked to see Stanzi play in the NFL
But squaring off against the Packer’s defense is not how I’d hope he’d be introduced.
It worked well for Ponder the first time
Pack secondary gives up yards but is opportunistic as all get out

Yeah, the Packer's defense actually isn't that great.
The problem is if you score 30, they score 45.

But they're #1 in the league in takeaways.
Richard’s gonna need all the lessons he learned from cutting down on his picks from ‘09 to ’10. Too bad Moeaki’s still out. (Right?)

Will not play.
