BLACK HEART GOLD PODCAST 70: DENARD OF AVON

In the more formal, less slide-whistley version of this week's podcast, we discuss this week's Iowa-Michigan game with Brian Cook of mGoBlog.  It's a discussion of where Denard fits in the grand scheme of Michigan football history, how Jordan Kovacs has become a poor man's Tyler Sash, and why Iowa might have a chance of winning this weekend.

Sad state of affairs...

that this has been up four hours and no one has commented yet…

I thought this would be far more depressing than it was.

And though I agree with Patrick in that the game will be all offense all day, Brian’s scoreline sounds more realistic.

I hope so

because right now I’m thinking it will be something along the lines of Jacobi’s (though with higher scores for both teams)

I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.

I have no clue what to expect.

All three predictions are perfectly plausible. Which sucks. Oh well.

Just as frustrating,

an equally plausible scenario?

Iowa 48
Michigan 21

Or something like that. Ugh.

The only outcome I couldn't see

is Iowa running away with the game. I’m hoping our offense has enough firepower to keep us in this until the end since our defense is not going to be able to contain Robinson

Yeah.

I don’t know. It’s a very weird season. Which, in a way, makes it a totally normal season, I suppose.

I’m thinking something in the neighborhood of 42-36, Michigan, with them pulling away/icing it in the 4th quarter.

thats what I think too scoringwise.

But the comment you made earlier is plausible as well. Just like the MSU game last year. Get one or two big turnovers like the INTs last year and the rout could be on. I just don’t hold on to the hope very strongly.

Where do you think Michigan will attack Iowa

besides EVERYWHERE?

One thing I of which I am CERTAIN

Woody Orne shone in his debut at TE last week. Expect a 6 catch, 70 yd. performance (with a TD to boot) from the man colloquially known as “Sauce Boss.”

Just beat jNW.

We've been running the tackle-eligible stacked line for years

I was wondering at what point we’d actually send a big guy out on a route

Does anyone else have the banner for Hawkeye Insider on the main page?

I find it strange that something like that would show up at BHGP and claim to be the Number 1 web presence for the Hawkeye football team.

/sorry, didn’t know where else to put this

Oh, that Brian Cook!

Not to be confused with the Bryan Cook who is the author of this piece.

Now that I read the piece, I’m not so sure they’re NOT the same Mr. Cook.
