BLACK HEART GOLD PODCAST 69, WITH BIG RON AND THE NOODLE!
Yes, it's the KCJJ thing. Details inside the podcast, except I left out one important point. My email address is everywhere on this site, these guys clearly already have my Twitter handle, and I'm pretty sure my contact information is readily available with a quick Google search if you don't want to use the other two. I know Captain Steve and his mustachioed Tennille are out swashbuckling on the high seas, but if they ever get into port and want to talk, I will go on their show so long as my day job schedule allows it. And if they want to be on our podcast so that they can be in a format that their grandkids can access, we'd be happy to have them on; I think it would be a fascinating conversation. I'm not demanding it, and I'm not expecting a call, but the offer is on the table. I might be a wannabe hack journalist, but I'm an accessible wannabe hack journalist.

Who commands more advertising dollars?
SBNation or A.M Sports Talk Radio? The Internet or A.M Radio in general?
Hack my ass. Vint, I’m from Ohio, educated in Pennsylvania, employed in Virginia. I know who you are. I don’t know who those assholes are.

If you guys are willing to give up job security and take significant paycuts you could do this for real. Think about it. I know a guy.
Perhaps my best years are gone... but I wouldn't want them back. Not with the fire in me now. No, I wouldn't want them back.
I want Big Ron and the Noodle to be recurring characters on other BHGPodcasts
They could be to BHGP what the Mooninites are to Aqua Teen Hunger Force

I think my favorite part was the accusation of poop related sexual performance anxiety.

HEY

I drink Miller lite and I assume that big fancy-pants ‘literate’ word is some sort of dig.

Hmm
what’s tougher? Fighting a guy who was pretty much the main writer for a great blog and sold out to a college newspaper (WTF?) or double-digit IQ A.M. radio guys?

Congrats to @kcjj for producing the most uninformed sports show I’ve ever heard.
You can watch/listen to the offending said sports show here:

I don’t think this particular show is that bad.
I just wanna see Kirk Ferentz cry.
The best part...
Is when the one host suggests, with all seriousness, that maybe Iowa was trying to to dupe Michigan by dropping the ball against Minny.

I wouldn't totally put that past Ferentz

You Like Twitter? Me too! Awesome Fun Time K Thanks Bye! @storminspank
A day later and those tweets are still hilarious
A grown man who goes by Captain Steve and unironically busts out the mother’s basement line calling someone else a hack is The Best.
How big can you house be in Coralville?
I’ve lived in Coralville. I came this →| | close to becoming a real property owner there. It cost $85,000 for a 1400 square foot condo.
That’s another way of saying that any employed couple with two neurons to rub together can afford a pretty nice-sized house in Coralville.
THAT DOG WON’T HUNT MONSEIGNOR.
A man may leave Iowa, but Iowa never leaves a man.
The radio station is in Coralville
Cap’n Steve’s house is in IC.
Does not substantively alter my analysis
Not to mention, he’s on radio. Unless his wife is making some jack, he’s slugging it out on AM radio for a salary comprable to that of a seasoned bus driver.
A man may leave Iowa, but Iowa never leaves a man.
well!
Profit margins in broadcast radio are up. He must be feeling them oats!
What’s funny is that I didn’t hear the original radio broadcast, but based on the BHGP podcast, I was able to recreate the entire thing in my head.
Bravo.
I will now go back to my huuuuuuuge 5400 square foot McMansion in St. Louis with my ridiculous lawyer money, hot wife and pimped out Honda Accord.
A man may leave Iowa, but Iowa never leaves a man.

KCJJ
Are they basically the Iowa equivalent of “Ira and the Douche?”
Plan to eradicate sadness:
1) Distribute the aforementioned BHGP slide whistles
2) On “D-Day”, call show one at a time
3) Utilize slide whistles
4) ???
5) Profit
BUT WHAT IS THAT SMELL WITH THE NOODLE?
You can’t leave us hanging on a cliffhanger like that.

That podcast sounded WAAAAAAAAAY too much like KCJJ. I had to stop listening after 3 minutes. ;)
I didn't know Steve-O did these podcasts with Vint
I expect a ‘Yeah, Dude’ out of him next time

Does anyone get the feeling
that KCJJ is only starting this to get attention? I seriously did not even know they existed until now and I lived in Iowa City for 5 years (all five of which I listened to AM radio).
I feel like them poking fun at you now is them tacitly admitting they are wallowing in the sink hole of life while you and the other proprietors of BHGP and SBN are actually on the cutting edge of fan news reporting and writing.
It seems worth suggesting that you just ignore them but frankly that podcast was so hilarious that I am torn.

you are giving them too much credit

how do they expect people to listen to KCJJ
When it’s not even listed on iHeart radio???

"Big Ron and the Noodle" is easily the best morning show I've ever listened to
The sad part, it was actually more highbrow and professionally done than 60% of the real morning shows out there.
I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.
