So I turned on the television tonight and the first thing on was wrestling airing on the BTN. Illinois at Northwestern. I'm not a wrestling fan, but Elluhnoy (Announcer's pronounciation) kept trying to comeback and I got sucked in like someone seeing pel
Well, you get the drift.
Anyway, late in the meet, the 197 match turned out to be an exciting one as White Guy from NW battled Mario Gonzalez of Illinois. In the third quarter or set or series or whatever it's called, Gonzalez was obviously exhausted but he still clutched a 1 point lead. That is, until the last 30 seconds when his knee buckled. He screamed in agony, collapsed with White Guy hanging on, and.....NW got a fall call, the meet win, and thus the match win. Totally botched call; even the BTN announcers were saying the ref missed it. The most typical NW part, though, came at about the same time as Gonzalez's "I'm out for the season now!" scream: tiny NW assistant guy comes flying in like some horrible combination of Fitzgerald and a leprechaun, jumping up and down like a moron, clapping his hands like a moron, and demanding the ref call the fall faster, damn you, faster.
They do this in every sport!
