Around SBN: Kobe Bryant Will Never Top Michael Jordan

Legends and Leaders it is...

So it likes like the Big Ten is keeping the lamest division names imaginable...

http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/01/13/rotfl-big-ten-confirms-it-will-remain-legends-leaders/related/

I've gotta agree with the author on this one.  This is like putting a BIG kick me sign on the conferences back, realizing it's there and deciding to still walk around in public wearing it.  I think at this point the fans would have been more happy with pretty much anything.  I think even the "Road Runner" and "Coyote" divisions would have been and improvement.  Tom  and Jerry?  Rosencrantz and Guildenstern?  This makes the ACC's naming look reasonable...

Somebody around here at BHGP...

predicted the Big Ten would do exactly what they’ve done: quell protest by acting like they might change it, wait a month, and then announce they aren’t changing it.

F*** you, Delany!

I've sentenced boys younger than you to the gas chamber. Didn't want to do it. I felt I owed it to them.

I believe it was Bellanca

Damn him and his forward thinking

I spent half my life's earnings on wine, women & song. The other half I wasted.

Damn you Delaney!

We’ve been “/CEO’d”. I don’t remember who said it, but he predicted this exactly. I would credit it to him, if I could remember who it was.

I knew it wasn't a good sign

when they started running those awful commercials with JoePa talking about Legends or Leaders, whichever one it is, and coupled with the Coming this Fall commercials.

I hate these people.

I hate everyone of them. This is what happens when you let one of the head honchoes of the BCS(!) run your stupid conference.

More than ever before, I am done with any pretense of conference loyalty. Iowa, PSU, the rest of you go say hello to polar bear whore for all I care, man.

But like any of our branding or marketing efforts, we will continuously review all aspects, conduct market research, and test sustainability.

I imagine these are the people who blew up the steel industry. I know they didn’t, but they just sound like they did.

someone want to tell me what kind of branding or marketing value is acquired by having divisional names called Legends and Leaders……what the fuck.

Did they do any market research before they made this decision?

I wish I could have been in that meeting when someone came up with the idea. Because I am guessing its one of those meetings where everybody is sleeping and some douche bag says “How about legends and leaders”…nobody says anything….no comment…then Delaney goes “Ok what a great fucking idea”…then like a day later everybody else is like “What the Fuck happened in that meeting, I don’t remember that shit coming up….thats a horrible idea”

When will the NCAA admit that it is a business with the sole purpose for making money off of student athletes?

@ Rambler

At least with the death of American steel, we still had (at times) cheap foreign steel to buy. With “legends and leaders”, we only have suck.
