For all the hand-wringing and concern over Brandon Wegher's apparent departure for the season, there's an aspect to this football season that no one is talking about.

Who is going to be the surprise, step-up player?

A year ago, none of us thought that Wegher would explode onto the scene the way he did. We were also concerned about whether or not Marvin McNutt could make a successful transition to Wide Receiver and if Riley Reiff could handle starting on the offensive line. That all turned out pretty good.

Someone will get there chance this season and make the most of it and give us another name to cheer on Saturdays. We just need to wait and find out who it's going to be.
