Official TD4K Donation Bragging Thread

As mentioned in the initial post, here is the designated area to publicly declare your donations to Iowa Touchdowns For Kids in order to increase your social standing and make us at BHGP love you even more than we already do.

It seriously is a great cause, one that the UI athletic department and its athletes stand fully behind, and we hope this thread is filled with good news for the UI Children's Hospital today and over the coming weeks. Thanks in advance.

Unless otherwise expressly indicated by BHGP editors, this FanPost is strictly the viewpoint of the author and is not endorsed by BHGP in any way.

BHGP pledges $3 per touchdown

This makes us all hirsute, virile, handsome, and athletic. Can you match our great achievement?!

Yes I can!

Also, I pledged $1 per TD.

Ok not so much the hirsute part.

$10 per BITCHMADE

but seriously though, just $1 per TD

by IDontUnderStanzi on Aug 24, 2010 1:14 PM CDT reply actions

That's great, really.

We don’t expect most people to top $1 per TD. That’s still really, really awesome, and it’ll be great news for whomever it benefits. Thanks.

I'm a college student,

So I chose the one time $25 donation, with the intention of donating more once I get paid again, textbooks are expensive, and I’ll probably forget about, so at least I’ll have this pledge to remember.

correction, one time donations aren't available,

So I’ve been switched to $1 per TD.

McTastic idea...

I work for a children’s hospital in another part of the country, so I know what a difference this kind of fundraising effort can make. Thanks for promoting it BHGP! Gladly donating $3/touchdown. Haul ’em in, McNutt!

I'm in at the $6 level

It’s a great cause and tax deductible.
I’m really hoping we score more than 40 TDs this year, this is a price I will gladly pay

That’s $5, not a penny. I also talked the better half into pledging. She won’t tell me how much she signed up for, but says I should be ashamed for being a cheapskate.

There is a realistic chance that I would not be alive today if it were not for UIHC. That was after Mayo Clinic dropped the ball, btw. So I have a bit of a soft spot for the place.

I plan to kick one dog for every Iowa touchdown scored on 10/2/10.

Otherwise, good job putting this together, Pantsians.

It’s a Penn State-Iowa game, so Iowa will score one touchdown and three field goals and win anyway.

I became a Hawkeye

I am in for $3.

I must counter your quote, I became a Hawkeye (and without a doubt bleed black and gold) but was born husker all the way. Both brothers attended UNL, and was at 95 and 97 championship games. First game in Iowa City freshman year I called home and said this is nothing like Nebraska … “I love it Go Hawks.” I have been fighting with the brothers for years, cannot wait to welcome them to the true power conference.

Great cause

In for $3 and will double the total for TDs in Rose Bowl!

by Hawkgrad on Aug 25, 2010 8:14 PM CDT reply actions

I just signed up for $3 per touchdown.

I love helping kids, charities, gambling and Iowa scoring. Seems like this is the perfect opportunity to combine all of it. I’ll kick in an extra $100 at year end if we win the Big Ten too. Hopefully SD Stanzi and the boys cost me a lot of money this year!

What’s the O/U on TD’s this year? I put it at about 38.5. (32 last year)

by CUNKNNK on Aug 26, 2010 12:02 AM CDT reply actions

Down for $1.00

If they do it again next year I really hope to be in a position to do $3.00 (or more) without giving it a second thought. I also hope the number of TD’s are such that this costs me a bit more than I think it will, even at a buck each.

by DonnyDonovan on Aug 26, 2010 11:04 AM CDT reply actions

I'm going a dollar for every point scored

Thanks for sharing this cause guys, it’s a great idea and an easy way to help out.

I figure if I take 6 dollars out of my tips each shift I work at about 5 shifts a week that might come close to covering how many TDs we score each game?

by A True Americanzi on Aug 26, 2010 12:09 PM CDT reply actions

Check out the sidebar

Totals right now of $257 per touchdown scored. On last years pace of 32 TD’s, that’s $8224. Something to really be proud of, and I can’t commend Adam and Pat enough for putting this site behind the effort. And all of the rest of you for donating.

Kids suck, but I suppose they deserve to live.

Joking, of course. (About the sucking.) As someone who works with kids and who spent a good chunk of my childhood in hospitals, I know how important high-quality care can be in the lives of families. $1 per TD for me. Thanks for doing this, guys.

Which is 1,800 colombian pesos per TD.

I would have given $10 for every time Clayborn made a QB soil himself but, alas, that was not an option.
