Greenwood = Best FS in NCAA11
Brett Greenwood is rated as the highest safety in NCAA11, at a 92 overall. I love Greenwood and all that he represents as a Hawkeye (Iowa kid, walk-on becomes starter, etc.), but wow.
He's ranked above Adrian Clayborn (not in the top 99) and OSU's Cam Heyward, among plenty of others. How Clayborn isn't one of the best 100 players makes this happen (but there are 3 Boise players in the top 15, so meh).

I really wonder why I buy that game sometimes...
Iowa gets steadily hosed on player ratings. Clayborne not in the top 100? Seriously? Nice to see TMFS on the list too though.

That AA list is a little misleading
Those numbers on the left aren’t rankings, they’re jersey numbers (why they gave Sash #18, who knows). Further, there aren’t 99 players in that list, so it’s not like EA doesn’t think AC’s a top 100 player. Same goes with the “Boise has 3 in the top 15” thing; it’s just sorted by jersey number. There’s only about 60 guys on that list anyway.
That said, fuck EA for not putting Clayborn higher.

It's not so much misleading as it is a
roster of a downloadable team. Which is also why there’s 68 guys. The ratings are right there in the chart. Sash is #18 (random # because George Iloka wears #8 and I couldn’t give Sash that one) because he has a lower overall ranking than Marvin Austin who wears #9 too. There’s a rule about guys having the same jersey number and being on the field at the same time. The video game doesn’t care, but I do. Clayborn has a 91 overall. That’s not bad, it just isn’t top 3 in the game at his position.

So who are the guys ahead of AC?

Other than the ones listed on that fancy roster there.

Assuming that Clayborn is listed as a RE
Then he is behind:
- Vonn Miller, Sr Texas A&M, 95 Overall
- Marcell Darius, Jr, Alabama, 95
- Greg Romeus, Sr, Pitt, 95
Needless to say, these rankings are a bit specious (proving yet again that EA Sports just turns on ESPN and codifies the hype)
I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.
But ESPN's Big Ten guy rated Clayborn the top player in the Big 10.
And I’ve never heard anyone on ESPN say anything negative about Clayborn.

Rittenberg is just a guy who works hard to do his job well.
Which means he has no influence at the WWL.
He does these weird things, like aiming for an objective assessment of all the teams on his beat and substantiating his opinions and analysis with, like, facts and shit. Surprised he hasn’t been fired yet.

EA Sports hates Clayborn
He is listed as a LE. That means he is the 10th best LE on the game behind Da’Quan Bowers Clemson 96 overall, Allen Bailey Miami 96, Cam Heyward Ohio St. 95, Luther Davis Bama 94, Ricky Elmore Arizona 93, Quinton Coples UNC 93, Jeremy Beal Oklahoma 93, Jabaal Sheard Pitt 92, and Ryan Kerrigan Purdue 92 . If Clayborn played RE on the game, he’d behind the other Ohio State end, Nathan Williams 92.

That's just crazy-talk
And there’s no way that ’Bama, that is replacing 10 OF 11 DEFENSIVE STARTERS, can still have two of the top DEs on either side.

If it's anything like Madden
Look for frequent updates on player ratings. Not saying you are going to see drastic changes but they update them every week or two. You will pry see the most about a week after the game is released when they do a huge update patching some of the bugs that have been discovered…
I don't buy this game each year...
especially now that I have a PS2 and it is somewhat ancient.
Please, somebody tell me what Sash’s overall rating is, compared to Greenwood’s 92?

According to the "downloadable team stats"
Sash is a 94.

NCAA Football
Is a bit of a joke. They actually have Iowa’s offense (rated an A-) rated ahead of their defense (a B+). I don’t know anyone that thinks the offense will be more of a team strength than the defense.
Maybe those things will be tweaked as the actual season progresses?
Too much to wish for, right?

Maybe it's foreshadowing
Sure, the defense is going to be good, but the offense will be even better? They’re saying that by the end, we’ll be a well balanced juggernaut!
I can hope.

Perhaps
But if last years Madden is any indication, they will patch the hell out of it by the time week one of the real season kicks in
In heaven there is no beer. This isn't heaven, it's Iowa.
what really made me laugh
Is the fact that they have three wiscy o-lineman as the best at their position. I mean the only one whos even close, is carimi, but even that is quite a stretch. And then there’s that mystery guard. The one they have listed(Kevin Zeitler) isnt even nearly as good as his counterpart John Moffit. Either way though, they shouldnt be on this list. Then they have oglesby, who while huge, moves about as well as a tree.
So to sum it up, they rated three wiscy o lineman ahead of clayborn.
Maybe EA should’ve done a little more research
What is DiBona's player rating?
…that’s all I care about. Also, is Mossbrucker or Murray rated higher, that way we will know who is going to start this year.
