Video: Ricky Stanzi Is Still Patriotic As Hell
It's early, but we've got the clubhouse leader for quote of the season: "All he had to say was 'America,' and from there it was just, 'okay, we'll just take it and talk about what really matters.'"
Ricky, Rick, Mr. Stanzi, El Stanleyzito: do not change. Not one bit, not an iota. We don't say that in a pejorative or ironic sense at all: Literally be that for the rest of your career. Please.

THESE COLORS DON'T RUN
I can’t believe he’s been keeping that one from us for so long. You’re the best, Ricky.

On a day-to-day basis no less
First thing he thinks about when he wakes up is America. How is this guy not going to get elected in 2012?

Apparently Uncle Sam dresses him to,
notice the USA t-shirt Rick was sporting.

He won't be old enough.
And this saddens me. Maybe it has to be Stanzi for president 2024.

I think once America learns a little more about our favorite Americanzi...
they’ll be all too willing to change that little rule.

Ricky Stanzi will not allow rule changes just for him. Please, RossWB.

maybe after he
disbands the taliban by launching his bomb that simultaneously solves world hunger and immigration problems. I know he has it but he’s waiting for the perfect opportunity.

nope
just be secretary of defense/homeland security/head of CIA. A triple threat on AND off the football field.

People Seriously Need To Watch This
He is an incredible human being, you just can’t fake that shit.
I will haunt your dreams and eat your children.
Wow
This is what I love about Ricky Stanzi. Talk about a hero to all Hawkeyes, that is the real impact that a player can have on the community when he’s not on the field. Thanks for posting that SWRT.
They took the bar, the whole fucking bar!

As someone that frequents Camp Courageous
as a requirement for my last two jobs, that gives me goosebumps. I have never had a bad day there- my students and, before that, people I served for support community living services, are always happy and excited. I am glad to see that Stanzi and the Hawks enjoy it too. It would be great to get some of those guys who may not pursue football as a career into the special education field or any field that serves special populations.
On another note: Everything that Stanzi says or does is pure gold. Every time I read or see something about him, I love him more. He just seems like an outstanding young man that really has his head on straight. He said something in the Register this weekend about not wanting a playoff because it would take student athletics farther away from the books and make the season longer. That is something I hadn’t even thought about.

You know....
I cannot help but convince myself that Stanzi was meant to be a Hawkeye. He is so involved with things like Camp Courageous and the hospital kids and does so while proudly supporting the Hawkeyes. I have never been more proud to call someone a Hawkeye football player than Ricky Stanzi. Sure, there could be better QB’s out there but as a human being he is second to none and for that I would not trade Ricky for anyone else. I am seriously going to miss him next year but cannot wait to watch him this year.

Awesome
Like I’ve said before, Ricky has his flaws as a QB, but there’s no question that he’s a great person and someone fans should be proud of having as part of the team and university. That was great.
On another note, it’s awesome to see the team so involved in Camp Courageous. My old job was at a facility that sent a lot of people to the camp, and it was awesome to see the way they’d light up whenever they talked about their experiences at the camp. It’s a great program.

All kidding aside, this guy is awesome.
That’s a fantastic way to be: I love the unabashed, patriotic, proud American vibe. For some weird reason you hear a lot of apologies about what is, let’s be honest, the greatest country in the history of the world (those who disagree are welcome to try a similar thought experiment in, say, oh, North Korea. Or Cuba. Or Zaire. Or …. We’ve got it better than anyone else has ever had it. May it last forever).
Keep going, Ricky. You’re quite a man.
A Good Night's Rest
During my vacation tour in Afghanistan, I sleep soundly at night ‘cause I know Ricky’s got the home front on lock down.
