The implications of this decision are staggering. USC, whose roster heretofore has been a de facto developmental league for the NFL, will now have an entire stable of players up for grabs. Many, especially seniors only concerned for their careers, will stay put. Certainly, a number of them will stay West, and a good chunk of that group will likely opt for less-competitive programs (can you say "Christmas at Hawaii, San Diego State and Fresno?) which will ensure continued exposure to pro scouts. However, I'm more than curious to see what schools from outside of the region go "all in". I'm thinking that Rich Rodriguez may have just gotten the biggest Get-out-of-jail card ever.
