DVR to Laptop to DVD

So ive been sitting around watching endless hawkeye football clips on youtube and playing season after season of NCAA 10 waiting for next season to start. I have the DVD of the orange bowl and it got me thinking. i could do better.

now my idea is to take all the games my brothers still have on their DVR's and put them onto my laptop or a desktop with some kind of editing software. obviously you would break it down by qtr (and maybe split the qtrs to half qtrs) also maybe add a *bonus section of key plays or favorite plays. maybe even pregame or postgame coverage.

obviously i have plenty of ideas however the area i need alot of help with is figuring out how to get video from the DVR to the computer. and what editing software does anyone suggest.

if you know someone who could help me with this or even has a little bit of advice please leave me a message at

hawkfan72487@aol.com

on a side note. i was a young little guy when the hawkeyes like sedric shaw were in the alamo bowl without the decals on the helmets and i never saw that game. does anyone know of someone with a copy of this game or somewhere i can find clips from the game?
