Baseball: Iowa Preview
Iowa baseball takes on Michigan this weekend. They have a good chance of taking a game, maybe two if they grab the momentum in game one of a double header Friday. With rain predicted Saturday and Sunday, chance at a sweep if everything works in their favor. That said, Michigan is pretty good this year and Iowa's bullpen and hitters aren't what many would call good.

"Iowa's bullpen and hitters aren't what many would call good."
They wiff a lot but they try hard.
Before you respond, let me remind you: Brian Cook called me smug, which makes me the Obama of smugness. I'm basically Smugbama.
Iowa took the lead 2-0 early
Alan Oaks for Michigan gave up a hit, walked two, hit a batter. Gave up an infield single for a run.

"We just forgot our pants. Nothing against the team or anything like that." -- take a guess
All indications point to Iowa winning game one
Freaking Jarred Hippen has killed Michigan two years in a row now. He’s still in the game after 8 innings, just one earned runs. Score is 5-2 Iowa.

And Iowa Wins game one
Hippen with a complete game. 2 R (1 earned), 6 H, 5 K, 3 BB. Great game by him again against Michigan. As a Wolverine fan, I can’t wait for him to graduate in 2 years.

And Iowa is slowly pulling away in game 2. Michigan is shooting themselves in the foot over and over and over.
