For those of you who have not tried this beer
I highly reccomend it. I bought a six pack about a month ago just to try it out. I was watching a movie with my wife that night and opened the first one when the movie started. Just under two hours later ther was just one left and my wife was on my ass to save it for her so she could try it. It is the best beer I have had in a long time. Bitter yet smooth, it drinks fast. I would reccomend pouring it into a pint glass to let it breathe.

If you like this beer
I strongly recommend Victory Prima Pils. Oh, and unless it’s complete shit beer, always pour your beer into a glass.

So...
from a tap?
It never gets to be easy

Well,
since you can’t actually drink from the tap (frat boys, hold your comments), a glass is the proper vessel from which to enjoy your beer.

The lid keeps smacking me in the nose.

Ooooooh yes, Victory Pils is awsome.
But nothing – nothing - beats Stiegl. I think that might be my most favorite beer in the world. Favorite golden/yellow beer, anyway.

Which, of course, is more of a lager than a pils, but still...

WARNING: Beer geek alert!
Pilsener represents two subsections (Bohemian and Bavarian) of the broader “Lager” category ergo, pils IS a lager. The “noble” in Noble Pils refers the variety of hops (Tettnanger, Haulertau and Saaz) used in the beer. The first two are hallmarks of the Bavarian style of pils (most famously, Warsteiner) whereas the Saaz is the ubiquitous hop used in the Bohemian/Czech style e.g. Pilsener Urquell.

I just got a six of Warsteiner last night
Tried it for the first time this evening. Tasty stuff.

Warsteiner is the most famous/readily-available Bavarian pils
but nowhere near the best (don’t get me wrong, it’s yummy). Depending on where you live, look for Victory’s Prima Pils, North Coast’s Scrimshaw Pilsener or even (believe it or not) the Mexican beer, Bohemia. All are really good examples of the style. If you want an authentic German take other than Warsteiner, Bitburger and Mahr’s Brau (available in Chicago, maybe at John’s in IC) are always good, too. God, I love beer.

Nothing messier
than alcohol-fueled mass suicide. Like Jonestown, but a better pairing with pretzels.

After reading these posts
I decided to get some Noble Pils on Saturday night. Being a fan of Sam Adams fine-crafted brews, I decided I needed to try it. It is not abundant here in the Phoenix area, but I did manage to find some at Total Wine and More ($10.99 for a 12-pack!).
I had 6 while playing Rock Band with some neighbors and friends – I must say, it’s some tasty stuff.

Did it also improve your Rock Band skillz?
by EnergizerHawk on Mar 22, 2010 12:14 PM CDT up reply actions
Oddly enough, YES
I’ve always been fairly decent at both guitar and drums (mainly guitar due to Guitar Hero, but I got Rock Band for Christmas and have been getting pretty decent on the drums), but after a few Noble Pils, I not only was scoring in the upper 90% on the bass (medium/hard difficulty) but also managed to rock the microphone as well.
