Around SBN: Lance Berkman Could Have Torn ACL

One Alabama fan talks about his trip to that God-forsaken dump in Orlando--where he just so happened to watch the reigning last decent game in stadium history on January 1, 2005. We may remember that game.

That game was awesome!

I live in Florida and a friend of mine did marketing for a group of local bars who were catering the VIP area before the game. She was able to give me a couple of box seats for the game which was very, very fun.

I had been...

to all of Ferentz’s bowl games (the first Alamo, the Orange, the first Outback), going into that season. My dad and I decided to take a year off, as I had been to Florida those last two years, and he had just been to Orlando earlier that year.

And of course, I missed “The Catch.”

I haven’t been to a Hawkeye bowl game since. I really need to get back in the habit.

If they ever invent a time machine, I might just use it to go back and witness the CapOne, third Outback, and the second Orange Bowl.

I've sentenced boys younger than you to the gas chamber. Didn't want to do it. I felt I owed it to them.

My trip to the Orange Bowl last month...

…was my first bowl game in an embarrassingly long time, back to when JHF walked the sidelines. It was an awesome experience in every way. I’ll definitely do it again.

Just found out (saw it yesterday) that Hooters has a magazine...

…and they have a Top 5 best (?“wildest”?…something) bowl games and “The Catch” is #2. Thought it was awesome that Hooters is givin the Hawks some love.

It's not

They’re from the Waverly area. One of them still owns a condo here (and comes back frequently). Also, the “original” hooters has all kinds of Waverly stuff there, including a Bremer Avenue sign.
