Student Tickets?
I'm hoping to head to Iowa City from Milwaukee for the Badger game next weekend but the only decent priced tickets I can find are student tickets. How do transferring student tickets work in Iowa City now? I know a lot of schools are busting down on student resales by requiring ID's or transfer fees, but I'm just not sure what Iowa is doing... Figured I would ask you guys because i'm sure a few of you have been through it from one side or the other. Thanks.

It's still easy here.
Once you have a ticket, just find a student ID from someone that looks king of like you is the same race/gender as you. No transfer fees, no scanning IDs at the gate. Super simple.
Student ticket policy at Kinnick
In short: there is none. I’m pretty certain they no longer check for a student ID at the gate and I know for sure that once you’re in the stadium you can walk right in to the student section without issue.

They still check ID at the gate.
At least they have for me and everybody I’ve gone to games with this year. As long as you don’t try to cover the photo, or admit that you’re not a student, you’re fine. If you’re at all worried about the ID, just go closer to game time when the lines are long and they just want to get people through the gates as quickly as possible.
This is true...
…but they don’t check closely at all. My boyfriend used my ID twice last year. He’s 10 years older than me and has a shaved bald head and looks absolutely nothing like me. The rentacops didn’t bat an eye.

Earlier I said it's good as long as the pics are the same race and gender.
I’ve used the same one for three different female friends (including one wearing an ISU shirt) and had no problems.
Yeah, I’ve been to two games this year and I know I’ved had my ID in hand when getting my ticket scanned, but couldn’t remember if they actually looked at it. I guess it also depends on the person scanning your ticket.

For me it's been 50/50 this year
Sometimes they check it, sometimes they don’t. A friend of mine last year got shot down for not having a student ID and just tried a couple different gates until he found somebody that didn’t care.

50/50 On Checking Student ID
I get asked to show my ID at the gates at Kinnick maybe half the time, and I’m a bit older than the typical undergrad.

This is the best advice.
If you wait until close to kickoff when there’s a huge crush at the gate they usually don’t even ask for the ID. They’re just trying to get people through as quickly as possible. I always have my ID out, but I think they’ve only actually looked at it once this year.
Hmmm, gonna be kinda hard to come up w/ 4 student ID's
Since I don’t know any current students and one of the guys will have a Badger jersey on I’m sure. Might have to rethink the student section plan…
Fuck tOSU
I took a friend in an Iowa State shirt to that game.
If you have any females in your group, send me an email. Still have an id for a female I can loan out.
Feel free to shoot me an e-mail as well.
I’d be happy to loan you my ID.
(I could probably give you a presidential pardon, but I’m feeling lazy today.)
They have done more this year then previous years to make sure students are using student tickets.
That being said, 90% of it is the way you act, and 9% is the person attempting to look at said I.D. 1% is the actual I.D. I am a dude, and I have used a chicks I.D. to get into Kinnick before. I heard of a group of 3 guys this year that were denied entry. They looked like students. They just must have been nervous or picked the wrong ticket taker to go to. Shit Happens, just be prepared and get some I.D’s. They are really easy to fake too, just need to copy one of the I.D’s and print (on paper) duplicates, glue them to another plastic card, keep it in a wallet when you walk up, they wont ask you to take it out. Maybe someone here would even be kind enough to scan their I.D. and send you a high-res image.
