Jim Leavitt out, Dan McCarney in?

Apparently, USF is not buying the retraction by Joel Miller and his Pa, and, as a result, Leavitt's been fired from the program he built. According to ESPN's report, leading candidates include Dan McCarney, Tommy Tuberville and Michigan OC Calvin Magee. It appears that Black Heart Gold Consulting may have an another opportunity to get McCarney a job.

It seems to me that Leavitt and Leach's firings are a result of the Mangino mess that come to a head at KU. However, in the cases of the more recent firings, players were not openly criticizing their leader, at least not while he was still at the helm.

I'd love to see McCarney get another shot. He did a phenomenal job in Ames, and really got the shaft. Why not let him take a program on the rise and see what he can do with some decent talent?
