Comments From DJK on Depth Chart Status
This has been beaten to death, but two comments in this story jumped out and were not things I had seen in other stories:
First: It was news to Derrell Johnson-Koulianos when he read he had been demoted to second-string Iowa Hawkeyes receiver after spring practices because of his rumored participation in a fight.
"I found out like everyone else," the junior pass catcher from Campbell, Ohio said last week of an Internet rumor with no basis in reality. "Why these things surface, I don’t know."
Second:"I came to Iowa because of the positive energy that I received when I first (visited) here," he said. "As of late, it has not been so much. But it’s really not my responsibility to settle those things or figure those things out."
Um, Yikes.

That's pretty selective editing there
Because the way you present the quotes from DJK are completely different from the context of the article. Especially the second. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but there’s no basis for the implied inference you leave.
I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.

Yeah...
You’re probably right…I was just interested in these two quotes in particular because A, everyone has been wondering whether or not “something” happened with no one really saying what, and B, I hadn’t seen anything other than articles about how DJK is “focused” from media day. Nothing referring to things not being positive in his relationship with the coaches or team…

It does . . .
Sound like his story changed a little in that second quote.
He was on message. He talked about motivation and how it’s not up to him to question the coaches.
If the motivation is to bring out the DJK who dominated Wisconsin in 2007 and who was clutch against PSU last season, it’s a smart move.
"I always like it better when the clowns seem to try to be happy."
