Ferentz sixth best in the Big Ten
Ohio State blogger (reporter?) has ranked the coaches in the Big Ten and I think you may be surprised by who sits in the middle of the road at number 6. Captain Kirk
"6. Kirk Ferentz - Once the darling of the conference, Ferentz is under fire. 7-5, 6-7 and 6-6, before putting up a 9-4 last year to shooed away the vultures for the time being. Off the field incidents are piling up. Still recruiting well enough but not like he was 3-4 years ago."
Yes, Tim Brewster and Pat Fitzgerald are ranked higher than Ferentz. I expect to see a tweet about it soon...

Hmm
This strapping young fellow appears to be Duane Long. The hat says “respectable journalist,” the never-ending torso says “Jabba the Hutt.”
Also:
1. Jim Tressel – Hands down the best coach in the conference. Ohio State is dominating the Big Ten in a way that you don’t see one school dominate a major conference very often.
Sure you do. It’s called USC. They even win their bowl games.
4. Tim Brewster – From 1-11 to 7-6 in one year speaks volumes.
Yeah, it’s called taking advantage of a shit schedule.

Excellent points,
Ross.
These next few items are in response to the article:
Hawkeye fans know that Ferentz is recruiting like he always has. The 2005 frosh were a highly-ranked aberration (and has arguably paid off less than other classes).
How can you be the best coach in the conference when you should have been able to buy multiple national titles, but you only have one sneaky one to show for it (2002). Did this writer forget that Tressel and his ilk have a .500 record in BCS games, losing the last three (two to lower-ranked teams?) I HATE OHIO STATE.
Speaking of NOT winning bowl games, that is exactly what Dantonio and Fitzgerald have done. Shouldn’t you have to finish better than 3rd in the conference in order to be mentioned with Joe Paterno thank you very much? Damn Spaniards.
Finally, there is so much wrong with the Brewster paragraph. “Bringing in all those JUCO players to jump start the program was a great idea.” Let’s see if that is true in another year or two. “His offense looks like it could be as dynamic as any in the conference.” Of course it does. It scored 30 points against a “decent” opponent exactly once last year. If you call Wisconsin decent, which you shouldn’t.
I guess now I know why Ferentz doesn’t read the internet.

Silly OSU bloggers
Hawkeye fans know that Ferentz is recruiting like he always has. The 2005 frosh were a highly-ranked aberration (and has arguably paid off less than other classes).
The biggest problem with the 05 recruiting class (aside from its disappointing on-field results so far) is that it raised the expectations for Iowa’s recruiting considerably, among the fanbase and especially among the pundits. That year wound up being a bit of a perfect storm of circumstances, between Iowa’s recent on-field success and the fact that Illinois and Notre Dame, two major destinations for Chicago-area kids (and Illinois kids in general) were in major funks at that time.
"His offense looks like it could be as dynamic as any in the conference." Of course it does. It scored 30 points against a "decent" opponent exactly once last year. If you call Wisconsin decent, which you shouldn’t.
That statement is even more ridiculous when you remember that they’re making their third major change to their offensive system in the last four years. That’s a sure recipe for a dynamic offense there.

Maybe I...
mis-interpreted the OSU blogger. Perhaps he meant that Minnesota’s offense was dynamic BECAUSE it has to change coordinators/systems ever 14 games. LOL

This is the beauty of blogs, in particular this curious fellow
It gives no-brained, John Candy knockoff looking fat shits anyone from the biggest industrial wasteland that isn’t Detroit places all across our majestic land a chance to voice their highly uneducated opinion. What happens, however, when you blur the lines between subjectivity and objectivity is a post with enough venom to stop a retarded gorilla that stirs debate and continues the never-ending cycle of “Who’s better?”
