When will the senseless dying stop?

In case you hadn't heard, there is more sad news today in terms of celebrity deaths:

http://www.journaltimes.com/articles/2009/06/28/ap/entertainment/d9941hd80.txt

I found out about this through deadspin, so that tells you how much news I've been watching today.

I thought about making an "oxiclean in the coffin" joke here in all caps. I think I will instead take the high road and say:

RIP, BILLY MAYS.

I've always found Billy Mays sort of hilarious.

I also respect people who, even if they take what they do seriously, have the ability to not take themselves too seriously. Billy Mays, as evidenced by his funny ESPN 360 commercials, seemed to be able to poke fun at himself. I’ve also read interviews with him. He knew he was an obnoxious, loudmouthed pitchman, and knew somehow, against all odds, he became rich and famous being an obnoxious, loudmouthed pitchman. And he truly seemed to appreciate how unlikely it was and how lucky he was.

I bet he would have been a fun dude to sit down and have a beer with.

Best line ever:

“Even streaking”

Funniest and most disturbing thing I ever heard Billy Mays say.

RIP Billy

What really sucks

I just started watching the show Pitchmen, where he and some other guy “Sully” pick inventions and do the marketing campaign for them. I like that show a lot. I hope it keeps going without Billy, even though it won’t be the same.

but yet all reality celebs just…keep…living……

I looked at Ohrnberger in the fourth quarter and he looked back at me. And we said, 'We're not losing this game"

"Reality" celebs

I’m not sure how people like Jonny Fairplay, FlavO Flave, and Bret Michaels haven’t died off yet. You would think STDs, diabetes, and the world’s hatred of you would have done the trick by now (I’ll let you match the celeb to their most probable cause of death.)
