After a couple days digesting the transfer news I'm moving towards an opinion on the transfers and that opinion is: These moves are not catastrophic and I'm not going to start typing in all caps Hysteria (what has 9 arms and sucks?) because 3-4 players are transferring.
I am disappointed that Iowa is losing Kelly. He played well when he took over the point and seems like a great kid. I can't imagine what his life must be like after losing his mom in college. To place any blame on him or Lickliter for leaving in my opinion is beyond the pale.
The news/speculation is that Kelly is transferring to Indiana St. - A MVC team that finished a remarkable 11-21 last year.
It is fully disclosed that Jermaine Davis - from longtime basketball powerhouse Kirkwood Community College - is transferring to Minnesota St., which, last I knew, was a made-up school.
Word is Jeff Peterson is looking to transfer to Missouri St., another dynamic institution who managed to out-duel Kelly's future home for last place in the one-bid league known as the Mo Valley.
It was pretty clear that when Peterson got hurt, Iowa got better.
Let's all step back from the ledge and be happy we don't live in Ames.
