This will definitely increase fan interest
We should sell out the rest of our games based on these new uniforms alone.
It's unofficial, but judging by the dates on the image above, Iowa will unveil new men's basketball uniforms on Saturday against Purdue. The uniforms appear to be similar to the System of Dress uniforms that are used at Ohio State, Florida and Syracuse. My initial thought: is there a smaller size available for Jake Kelly and Devan Bawinkel?

Gold, huh?
Well, pfac will be happy… ;-)
Not real crazy about the gold unis myself, but that’s mostly my bias against gold unis. The road unis look pretty sharp and I’m happy to see new uniforms, period. The old ones felt really stale and were an unpleasant reminder of the Alford era.

These uniforms seem to be designed for players with muscular builds.
Which begs the question…why are we switching to these?

Well, Tate and Cole will look good in 'em...
Kelly and Bawinkel may look like they’re wearing dresses, though.

I like em'
I like the Hawkeyes on the gold uni’s. Maybe going Hawkeyes on your ass will work, lord knows just “Iowa” is not getting the message across.

I'll be taking the opposite position.
I definitely prefer seeing a big bad “IOWA” on the front. The “Hawkeyes” version looks like a practice jersey.
I guess what I’m saying is, fate mandates that one of us will eventually kills the other.

I'm glad that they'll be wearing gold at home
the white looked terrible, and was worn out and stale. Besides the fact that white isn’t one of the official school colors.

The black ones look pretty badass.
Not as sold on the home gold. Not because I am against gold per-se, just not as crazy about them based on the pics above.
I would like to go back to gold paint around the floor though. I liked it better than the current black.

Word.
I made it up to CHA for the game Saturday, and the black looks really worn. The shoe scuffs really show up on it. I’d like to see them strip all the paint off of the floor and go for the old school look. It’s a parquet floor. Show it off a little.

I guess that might explain
why Scheels had men’s #5 & 11 on sale dirt cheap last week. I wondered why they’d be on sale in the middle of the season, I assumed Scheels had just lost all faith.

Assumed, not unreasonably, along with most of what is left of the fan base. How many days to football? I like it better when I care about the ncaa tournament. The last few years = barely. Depressed.

Honestly, if it hadn't been for Drake
last year would have been a complete loss for any sort of collegiate basketball for me.

It's incredibly coincidental...
…that the last three times college BB teams from the state of Iowa entered the tournament with a seed that provided legitimate opportunties for a deep run (Drake 2008, Iowa 2006 and Iowa State 2001), that all three ended in first round shockers that are as unbelieveable as any three endings you could pick from that time period.
Not really relevant to the topic at hand, but think about those three games. All were stunning, and all involved Iowa teams.
