A better case for coach of the year is Todd Lickliter, who is doing a marvelous job in building the Hawkeyes into the successful program achieved under the leadership of Dr. Tom Davis, or Ralph Miller.

Hoopraker, who may have forgotten what "marvelous" means.

Just Checking To See If You're Looking BHGP

Thanks for the shout out OPS. It’s been a tough season for your guys but our man in Chicago was trying to be, how you say, optimistic. On the bright side, you’ve got one of the best frosh in the B10 in Gatens and Peterson is developing into a solid PG. Too bad Tucker ran into so much trouble this year. All things considered, Alford didn’t leave you with much on the plate. From my la-z-boy, Lickliter’s got a National Coach of the Year in his back pocket already but I don’t think he’ll be picking up any more hardware this season.

Lute Olson. Although I’m still mad about that timeout Bobby Hansen called. Fuck.

Yes, most of the problems have been personnel-based

And spending most of the conference season without Tate and Tucker is more than Iowa can overcome. We’re bigger Lickliter apologists than most at BHGP. But relative to the rest of the BXI, it might be safe to say Iowa took a step back this year, and they weren’t that good to start with.

He took the plate

And ran over it with a forklift.
But hey, he was considerate enough to leave the pieces laying on the ground for this team (and last years) to walk through.

An article on Tucker from the QC Times...

Says he’s going to stick it out at Iowa. Good news and I hope the young man learns from all his adversity and comes back better next year. He and Gatens could form a nice young core. One more legitimate big and another point guard (or continued growth from Jeff) and maybe, just maybe, this thing really starts to go the right way next season.
