Iowa won their 21st, and third consecutive, Midlands championship tonight with a final team score of 168.5 points.  There have been only 47 Midlands tournaments, ever.  Obviously, it's safe to say that the Hawkeyes own this tournament.  

Metcalf was impressive, as usual, and is one of 3 Hawkeye champions.  Winner of the Dan Gable Most Outstanding Wrestler award, Metcalf scored 32.5 team points on his own, scoring bonus points in five of six matches, including 3 pins.  Jay Borschel and Matt McDonough also won their divisions, 174 and 125, respectively.  Television replay to air on BTN Saturday Jan 3 at 6 PM CST.
