Basically, it sounds like another hissy-fit with a cab driver, not sure it is Tucker's fault. A 911 call was made. Tucker makes a cryptic facebook status change that said "I am outta here."
While I think we can get by without Tucker (because it seems to me like he might be retarded), it is still not good if Lickliter keeps losing his most talented players. Of course, with Tucker, nothing has been Lick's fault.
Paging Dr. Bawinkel. Dr. Bawinkel to the spot just behind the three point line, please.

I think the Gods have it in for Mr. Lickliter
where Iowa is concerned. Although, this could be addition by subtraction. I was a Tucker fan last year but he is slow, diffident, and seemingly unable to keep it together.

I don't even know
what to say. I feel bad for Coach Lickliter.
OK I don't know shit about basketball.

This is clearly a young man who needs some help
From the reports emerging it sounds like Mr. Tucker continues to have no idea how to have a few drinks without the night ending very, very badly. You’d think the whole passed-out, could have died, hospital incident last year might have been a wake up call. I guess not.
I hope he gets his act together and has a productive life, but it sounds like that life won’t include any more time as a member of the Hawkeye basketball team.
It would be almost funny at this point were it not so sad (the state of the program as a whole, that is). And yes, hard to point the finger at coach on this one.
And yes, it was only a four-point win over Drake...
…but I watched the game last night, and really thought it might be a mini turning point. The team put up 70+ (for the second game in a row!), Fuller looked decent, Tucker actually had some nice moments, Gatens seemed to be emerging from his shooting funk, and the team had stretches where they actually looked like a Divison 1 basketball team.
sighs
Although I can understand a little bit
Watching this team makes me want to get totally shit-faced drunk as well. Even when we win.
You don't need to use basketball as an excuse to get shit-faced drunk dude.

Tucker said something similar...
I think it was “You don’t need to use basketball as an excuse NOT to get shit-faced drunk, dude.”
I've sentenced boys younger than you to the gas chamber. Didn't want to do it. I felt I owed it to them.

Please.
I can’t read stories about teenagers who threaten cab drivers, drunk, at 2 a.m.
Get a dorm room and walk home, for god’s sake.
This is a spectacular meltdown that is underway with Iowa basketball. They are going to have to have an open audition soon for the intramural guys. There is something entirely weird going on here. We’re approaching 100% attrition.
Mr. Boh Knows ...
Think about this
when these alcohol related arrests happened with the football team Ferentz seemed to be on the ropes…and think of all the good will and credibility he had built up. Whereas Lickliter is, to put it mildly, been embattled since the end of year one. He has 12 guys to look after (not 105 like Ferentz) and he is having a miserable time keeping them, and keeping them out of trouble. I just don’t know what to say…I think Lickliter is going to ship out Tucker to save his own skin. It will be interesting to see how he handles this. It might be a no-win.

By on the ropes
I mean in a defensive posture. I don’t wwant anyone reading this as me saying he was out of here…or close to it.

Are their other players besides Tucker who've run afoul of the law?
Bohall, I guess? Or was that Alford’s last year — I can’t recall.
Lickliter’s definitely had a lot of attrition issues, but I don’t recall a lot of disciplinary issues unless I’m blanking on some stuff.
Bohall was Lick's first year
Also having hung out with Bohall a couple times, it was the least surprising arrest ever.
I should have said keeping "him" out of trouble
He hasn’t had a lot of discipline issues. He’s had a Tucker issue and a keeping player issue…whether it is keeping them out of trouble or keeping their interests in Iowa.

That's probably fair to say.
I’m more concerned about the overall player retention issue than the Tucker issue, although obviously the loss of a single player hurts a lot more in basketball than it does in football.
Chernobyl...
was less painful for me.

That's what Tucker said.
"The possibility of physical and mental collapse is now very real. No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride." HST
Word on the street is
it was a Zima with a jolly rancher…cherry flavored.

I know you guys are being silly, but...
If it really was Zimas, that’s beyond lame.
