2009 AP All America team released
The 2009 College Football AP All America teams were announced today. This list is always worth scrutinizing, just like everything else any one ever votes on.
Although unsurprising, the exclusion of Amari Spievey on any AA team is rather upsetting. As pointed out earlier today, the dude is a dude, and helps sustain the image of dominance that the Iowa D brings on game day. Also of note is the selection of Eric Norwood over Iowa field general Pat Angerer and eye-poking enthusiast Brandon Spikes, standout Bowling Green flanker Freddie Barnes being limited to the third team, Tyler Sash being passed over on the second team for T-101 impersonator Taylor Mays and UCLA ballhawk Rahim Moore, and Boise St. quarterback Kellen Moore being selected to the third tea... Norwood over Angerer isn't that bad
Sash not making at least 2nd team is pretty retarded though, and Clayborn and Spievey probably should have been at least 3rd team.
Nah it's not
Norwood is a freak and definitely deserves his accolades. You’re right about Clayborn though, he definitely should’ve been on there.

Sash should have been first team
He has better stats than Berry in almost every category, and considering the amount of passes thrown against Iowa’s deep middle, I’d say DCs don’t like him very much.
But, hey Eric Berry had a Heisman campaign with a rapper and dancers.

Eh, just watching Berry the last three years I'm pretty sure he's earned every acolade he's received
Teams really don’t test him much anymore, after he spent the previous two killing them for it. I don’t have a problem with him over Sash either. Traditional counting stats are not an especially great way to judge defensive players.
Yes, but did any team really test Sash this year?
Honest question.

No one throws over the middle against Iowa anymore.
But we play team defense, which is a little like being Greece playing the NBA all-star oo-la-la team (and Greece winning). No one gets it.
