We played with a 2nd string redshirt frosh qb and a 3rd string true frosh rb, and it took the refs ignoring three straight holding calls for us to lose. Fuck em’ all. I never gave a damn about the national championship. I love these boys, this loss wasn’t their fault, and i’m not getting down.

Obviously we got robbed. A holding call on a touchdown, that wasnt a hold at all. A couple defensive holdings that werent called.

It never should have been that close in the first place. Stanzi did well because he got all the reps in practice. We’d have lost a couple games already if Vandy was better prepared.

I'm afraid that the math is not good for us
even if Ohio State loses today. The tiebreaker rule is that in a three way tie (I am assuming we lose to Ohio State and beat Minny) the team with the highest BCS ranking goes…and I think overall record. So PSU goes.
Bottom line, we must beat Ohio State to see a conference championship and the Rose Bowl. No way around it.

Like I said before, I don't blame this loss on our defense.
But the way they were giving up 4-5 yards a pop up the middle for a while was really frustrating.
I'm putting this on Vandenberg all the way. If you are a D-1 QB there is no way you should be that bad.
The receivers were open all day and the D played well. Vandenberg just went out and sucked it up all over the field.

Why not give Vandy a chance when he has actual prep time with the 1’s? I’m not expecting anything out of the OSU game, but the Minnesota game is not an impossibility.
That would be a 10-win season with a chance at 11 in a bowl. That’s hardly a season worth dismissing out of hand.
I'm not dismissing it I just think next years team is gonna be even better.
I want to see what that looks like. I just hope we play an SEC team in the bowl game so the SEC fans I know will shut up about how they would beat Iowa by 70.
