Brewster's Active Imagination is Contagious...

It's bad enough that Tim Brewster makes up stuff that didn't happen when it comes to the Hawkeyes, as discussed in Patrick Reusse's column in today's Star Tribune:

Did you win the game?

"We did; we did,'' Brewster said. "But I don't think it had to do with the paper."

As it turns out, White's paper hanging went for naught. Brewster played only once in Iowa City and the Illini lost 14-13.

But now it has spread to sports writers as well, as evidenced by La Velle E. Neal's accompanying story about the game:

and the Hawkeyes haven't won -- since then. Once ranked as high as fourth in the country, they are out of the Top 25.

And of course by that he means #15 in both the AP and Coaches polls as well as #14 in the BCS.

Let's bury these dickheads on Saturday.

My God.

I didn’t even bother reading past the part where he wrote that Iowa was out of the Top 25. The retardation…it is too much…

That's a shame

LaVelle E. Neal III is actually a pretty solid beat writer for the Star-Trib. He covers the Twins extremely well. Hopefully it’s more of an honest mistake on his part.

That's why I was surprised...

that it was him who wrote that. I live in the Cities as well and read the STrib everyday. I also thought that he was an AP voter as well. No wonder we’re rated so low….

Yee-Haw! I ride again!

We'll make

their bridges look slow with how quickly they’ll go down this Saturday.

That is not cool. Like, at all.

Just to let you know, I crossed that bridge roughly 45 seconds before it fell while on my way to my weekly softball games. It wasn’t just Gopher fans that were affected by that.

Sorry for coming off a little self-righteous up there

That was just a really fucked up time afterwards. What the weirdest part was the couple of days after it fell, being on the I-94 bridge over the Mississippi during rush hour (i.e., going 3mph, so basically just sitting on the bridge) on my way home from work and knowing that everyone had the same thoughts of “What if this bridge comes down too?” In retrospect, nothing has happened since. But it definitely gave me chills crossing that thing twice a day for about a week.

No, that's okay

If it meant something to you, it meant something to you. I’m glad you spoke up.

I got more rhymes than Wade Lookingbill's got dunks
