overrated?

Stewart Mandel has Iowa as overrated yet still set to play Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl? Do you think he's seen a minute of Iowa football this year? Also, do you think Virgina Tech is as good as he and everyone else thinks? Yeah they beat the U and barely beat Nebraska. Alabama is they're only loss, do you think Alabama would score 17 on us? I think Iowa would shut them down

Until someone beats us,

I don’t know how anyone can call us overrated. There are four teams ahead of us with one loss.

One of those teams is Virginia Tech, who is almost always overrated.

But, the only record and poll that really matter are the final ones.

VA Tech is overrated

As has been the case every year for the past decade. But, they are a media darling, so their every stumble gets excused away. Look for them to have 1-2 more losses in conference before the year is out. Other than the Miami game (where the weather was a huge factor), VA Tech hasn’t played anyone of note except Alabama, who dominated that game in everything but the scoreboard.

I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.

Forgot all about Nebraska

Which kind of undermines my argument. But I maintain VA Tech is very overrated (part of this is the fact that I live in Virginia and have to hear about the Hokies constantly).

Seen them three times this month...

and I’m still not impressed. My boyfriend is a VT alum, and we live within driving distance of the games so we have season tickets. It’s a fun atmosphere – very similar to Iowa actually – but I’m still unimpressed with their team. Don’t tell him, but I hope we go down there and see them lose to Boston College this week. Then I’ll be the one with the top 10 swagger.
