Oct 4 polls
Although I don't care, I look. Following the awesomeness that was the beatdown Iowa put on Ark State yesterday, move up one spot in polling system idiocracy:
http://espn.go.com/college-football/rankings/_/week/6
Well, that is mostly due to Houston getting beat by UTEP. Yep, they were #12 last week. See ya. OU gets love with their 2-2 record and most of offensive first teamers hurt. The trip to Wisconsin doesn't look so inviting at the moment. And why is Tyler Hansbrough (sp?) in an AT&T commercial?

Wiscy should be ahead of Missouri, Auburn is three or four spots too high IMO, Kansas hasn't really played anyone, and the coaches are still stupid (Iowa still behind us?)
Otherwise, I don’t care at all.

Well
Penn State looked a hell of a lot more impressive yesterday than Iowa did. Appreciate the love Rambler, but I was expecting a drop in the rankings when people saw the box score from our game. Had it not been for three big passes by Stanzi, we would have been feeling like Michigan after the Appalachian State game.
They took the bar, the whole damn bar!

That doesn't change the fact that we have a better record, a better schedule, AND FUCKING BEAT THEM HEAD TO HEAD ON THE ROAD

This is essentially the argument I have been making
Without the caps.

well ok
I was expecting a fall in the polls following a win for the second time this year.
Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.

A fall this week was pretty deserved, if one actually votes based on play on the field, not resume. I just don’t think a lot of thought goes into this process.

My guess is most coaches and/or writers simply wrote it off as a "trap game".
Saying, “Hey, it’s in between Penn State and Michigan. Of course, they weren’t ready.”
People should remember that while they have the right to their opinion, they are not entitled to be taken seriously. --Bruce Bartlett

how about....
ark st is actually pretty decent…and for whatever reason Iowa has had trouble with the scrambling qb in recent years…and they made some plays…give them that…the pick 6 hurt bad…that wasn’t a bad team though…they came into a tough place and play’d hard even after they got punched in the mouth early…i can’t figure Stanzi out…
i don't wife em...i one night em

we moved up because
people submitted their votes last week before the iowa-penn state game ended.
I do what I can.

We moved up
Because teams ahead of us lost, and we won. It’s far enough into the season and we’re high enough up that they won’t drop us after a win, even an awful looking one. As retarded as it is, inertia plays a big roll in position as the year goes on. Personally I think everyone should just vote like the last week’s poll didn’t happen, but that’s not how it works.

You guys shouldn't bother looking at their BCS ranking
Iowa isn’t even in the top 25 in the BCS despite being 5-0 and having the 10th most difficult schedule.

Thanks for the link
One thing I’ve noticed about the BCS is that THERE ARE NO WINS OR LOSSES COLUMNS.

It would be kinda redundant
The computer polls, and, for the most part, human voters tend to factor wins and losses in pretty heavily so I don’t really see what the point would be.
