Ricky Stanzi talks about the upcoming game against Indiana, what it means to be missing some key players, and how he's a true American hero. Shades of Lehman anyone?

I like Ricky Stanzi.
“what do you think of national media, disrespect, etc.?”
(rolls eyes) “That doesn’t really matter, I don’t care what they think.”

His quote about America made be break down laughing at work. Two of my co-workers shot me angry looks when I broke “the cone of silence” while I was watching this video.

Ricky
That’s my kinda quarterback. Don’t give a shit what anyone else thinks, don’t pay attention to stupid-ass polls, and don’t wear your emotions on your sleeve (until after the game that is). Time for Manzi to kick some hoosha ass

Manzi beard
Has he been growing that thing out all season? Everytime I see him in an interview, it looks fuller, more luxurious than the previous week. I like the playoff beard mentality.
I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.
I think it was Tom Landry who said...
Leadership is a matter of having people look at you and gain confidence, seeing how you react. If you’re in control, they’re in control.

Despite the fact that he pisses me off at least twice a game
Ricky seems like a pretty cool dude. I can see why his teammates love him.
In my book he’s been forgiven all his previous transgressions.
The final drive at MSU has to make up for games 1-7 Stanziballs (even the pick 6’s). Well… on second thought, he’s golden at least until the next Stanziball.

Just a Small Point
Stanzi didn’t really have any bad throws I can remember from the Wisconsin game; however, there were a couple questionable throws against MSU. The biggest fact is, he didn’t throw an interception in either game (that stood, MSU cheated). I like how he’s begun to settle down with his throws.

When he threw that pick-6 at the beginning of the Michigan game
I turned to my brother and my cousin who were visibly upset (and tanked) and said, “No big deal. He’s just getting it out of his system.” Stanzi hasn’t thrown a pick since. I am smart.

Those questions...
were awful. I love that the only time Stanzi looks at all confused is when some member of the media asks a dumb question.
I recognize one of the media clowns as Jared Ahrens of KGAN in Cedar Rapids. Whenever I listen to him, I always think of that dude from that old episode of South Park that can’t properly pronounce “planetarium.”
Thankfully, despite the poor quality of anyone not working for the Gazette, we are all still Americans. Nobody is going to get shot over it. We are all just going to shake it off and move on to the next Hawkeye victory.
I've sentenced boys younger than you to the gas chamber. Didn't want to do it. I felt I owed it to them.

Chazz . . .
Listen to the beginning of the McNutt video. I asked a question about him playing hoops against Clayborn and then got shanked by the one you mention. I don’t mind telling you, I was pissed.

So does that mean...
when you ask Matt Gatens some questions about his flag football days, and Mark Woodley of KWWL butts in, you will go Clayborn on him?
Honestly, I think every TV station outside of Des Moines should investigate the possibility of paying the sportswriters from the Gazette to handle their sports. Although, Hlas has a voice made for the newspaper business.
I’m sorry if any of these “compliments” are too backhanded or smarmy. I am ready for Saturday morning, but I have a long Friday getting in my way.
