And I flip over to MSU-Illinois to see a MCGEEBALL get run back for six pts
Jesus, of all the years to miss Illinois…
With our luck
The next time we catch them they will have wised-up, fired The Zooker and kidnapped all able bodied recruits/men/women/farm animals in the state to play for them. But still, I like our odds.

Kansas is up on ISU by 1 with just over 2:00 to play in the half.
13-12, KU ball.

three miss PATs in this game.
And two of them were by ISU’s kicker Mahoney who has now missed three straight extra points……glorious.
I can't watch because of the bitchfight between Versus and Direct TV
What’s going on? Winds? Shitty kickers?
Dunno
I’m at the office doing homework, so I only have Gamecast up – no real info.
Also, Illinois is just brutal. Terribly coached, zero player development, and frankly, shitty recruiting.

Looking at who they've played
Its not surprising. Granted their schedule hasn’t been PSU-esque, but WVU and Rocky Top ain’t nuttin’ to fuck wit.

God, the Boilermkers are just the Keystone Kops of the Big Ten this year.
They can’t get out of their own way. They’ve basically gifted Minnesota 21 pts today between turnovers and botched punts. (The other 7 were set up via Minny’s one good offensive play: throw it to Decker.)
Do they play Illinois this year?
That might be a fun one…
by Bucketochicken on Oct 10, 2009 1:12 PM CDT up reply actions
Yeah
The cellar of the Big Ten will be determined when the Zookers roll into West Lafayette on 10/24.
O/U on turnovers for that game? 8.5? 9.5?
I'm not too savvy on Purdue's Depth Chart right now
But aren’t they relatively young?
by steaming_pile_of_awcrap on Oct 10, 2009 1:12 PM CDT up reply actions
Miami (OH) has given up the most points of an D1 team this year, and scored the least
And jNWU is only up 10-0 at the half
by YouCanPutYourEddsInIt on Oct 10, 2009 1:12 PM CDT reply actions
jNW
is just saving it up for the Iowa game. O/U on passing yards for their QB for that game: 450 (based on past performance, insert fruity French-sounding QB name here)

Is it possible that we'll need 4 live threads today?
2 for early games/ 2 for the onlygamethatmattersever?
by steaming_pile_of_awcrap on Oct 10, 2009 1:17 PM CDT reply actions
I doubt it.
Too many of our regular commenters (and OPS and HS, of course) are in IC for the festivities, I think.
But if the threads get too unwieldy, I’ll be happy to make new ones.
I asked the question
But truth be told, I probably won’t even be contributing to the thread come game time. I lack the part of the brain that keeps may hands from throwing things when I’m on edge. So its best for me to stay away from my laptop.

KU/Clones?
But I’m not sure how good it is now..
by steaming_pile_of_awcrap on Oct 10, 2009 1:23 PM CDT up reply actions
If Kansas is really only this good
Nebraska is going to take the B12 North easily. After that, they’ll somehow shaft Texas on a miraculous/bullshit play/non-call in the B12 championship, and follow that up by backdooring their way into a NC game, at which point they will get beat the fuck down.
/run-on’d
by Ed Podolak of Good Judgement on Oct 10, 2009 1:29 PM CDT up reply actions
Watching Nebraska get dismantled is always fun.
Although the month of hype for the game would be tiresome.
That said, even if they somehow run the table, I don’t think they can overtake USC if they also run the table.
Chizik Watch
I can see Auburn losing 4 more games this year:
LSU
Ole Miss
Georgia
Alabama
I suspect they will beat Furman.
by Ed Podolak of Good Judgement on Oct 10, 2009 1:25 PM CDT reply actions
I could see them rolling off the table.
If they can’t close the gap in this score today, then I have reservations about them competing with Kentucky.
I will concede Furman lol

Football-related question:
Went to a HS game last night (in Iowa). Opposing team’s kicker had a huge leg, and could easily kick the ball into the end zone. However, my team’s return man was able to field these kicks—-but it appeared that the referees would not allow him to field a kick in the end zone and run it out!

If KU is smart they continue to pass the ball.
As Jebus pointed out, ISU has no pass defense.

What do you learn from a game like this?
They can move the ball against a terrible D.
They can’t stop anyone.
They can’t make big plays when they need them.
They can’t tackle.
They can’t make an extra point.
They can’t make a FG.
They can’t win on the road.
