Appropos of nothing: I miss Bill Hicks
It will be 15 years next month since Bill Hicks died of pancreatic cancer.
He was 32.
Thank you, Bill, for everything. It's all just a ride...
The World is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real, because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round, and it has thrills and chills and is very brightly colored, and it's very loud. And it's fun, for a while.
Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they've begun to question, 'Is this real, or is this just a ride?', and other people have remembered, and they've come back to us and they say 'Hey, don't worry. Don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride.' and we KILL THOSE PEOPLE.

Another dead hero
If not for him, we would maybe never know what it sounds like to suck the devil’s cock.

I couldn't agree more
He was a genius. I miss him all the time. I don’t know if you’ve seen his last appearance on Letterman. He was the only guest ever edited off the show. He had lost weight from the cancer, but nobody knew he was sick. The comedy wasn’t dirty, just biting. Letterman says it’s the biggest regret of his life.
I did recently watch comedian Doug Stanhope. While he’s no Bill Hicks, it’s the closest thing I’ve seen.

Letterman
So I finish my post. head to bed and fire up the DVR. I watch last friday’s Late Show and Mary Hicks, Bill’s mom, is the guest. Dave has obviously been remorseful the last 15 years, about editing Bill’s performance off of the show. He does the classy thing and invites Bill’s mom, apologizes profusely and then plays Hick’s performance. I love Dave.

spooky...
but i pretty much despise letterman for pulling that chickenshit stunt in the first place. i was hoping mary would kick him in the balls for bill. god that would have been so awesome.

I, too, miss Bill
Dennis Leary is not fit to lick Bill Hicks’ ball sack.
Good comics are some of the most intelligent people there are.
Dane Cook, Carlos Mencia, and their types are fucking pathetic. A couple of years ago I had never heard of Dane Cook, and I made the mistake of downloading a Dane Cook album based on a friend’s recommendation. I only made it about 20 minutes before I realized what a talentless hack Cook is and turned it off.

You can add Adam Sandler to that list too.
That guy is about as funny as leukemia.
