Fowler puts Iowa on upset watch
So about 1/3 of the way into Fowler's column on espn.com today, he puts 3-1 Iowa on upset watch against 4-0 Northwestern. How the fuck does a 4-0 team upset a 3-1 team?
[Nice catch. Also, easy answer: When it's the worst 4-0 team in the nation. They're just Northwestern.--OPS]

If...
Northwestern is the worst 4-0 team in the country, then what does that make Minnesota?
I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.

Minnesota would beat NU by 3 touchdowns.

Iowa is favored by like 8.5
I don’t know why either. Actually, yeah I do, they’re fucking Northwestern.
Eagerly awaiting that Chad dude going into a rage over this and calling Ricky Stanzi a girl or something.

Here’s the lines I’ve found on the game
Northwestern Wildcats +8.5 (-110), Over 42.5 (-110), +280 (Money line)
Iowa Hawkeyes -8.5 (-110), Under 42.5 (-110), -340 (Money line)

Gambling is over my head.
However, I don’t think it’s going to be very easy running our standard 9-page playbook (that would be … 9 plays? …) against these boys with our rook at QB who just got benched because he didn’t hear the coach yelling to him “never mind, never mind, kill the clock” just after the other coach burned timeouts to get the ball back and try to score. Just my $0.02.
It has been a few years since we had a QB with confidence out there. Even Drew squeezed the air out of the ball year 3.
Uh … did anyone note what they’re doing with that defense and all the stuff (blitz, stunt) they’re doing in their opponents’ backfields?
If we pound NW, I’ll be thrilled, because it means we’ll win 9. I don’t see a pounding here. Do you?
I know. Let’s ask Sally Mason. What say, Sally? What’s the answer? Do we win by 3, or 30?

I'm not a very good gambler
Don’t get me wrong, I wish you guys the best tomorrow. However, losing to Dave Wannstedt simply cannot be followed by bitching about not being favored by enough points to anyone. Even against Northwestern. Or Northeastern.
I look forward to your AD’s eventual press release about JC6’s fifteen touchdown passes tomorrow, though.
