Pat Forde, poor math or prophet?
We all love the Hawkeyes, and cannot help but brag about his greatness, but Pat Forde has now given us one more milestone with which to brag. A 2,000 yard rusher.
Player of the Year -- Shonn Greene, Iowa. As the Hawkeyes asserted themselves down the stretch, so did the junior running back on his way to a 2,000-yard season. He scored 11 touchdowns in Iowa's last five games, as what started out to be a disappointing season reversed course and became a solid 8-4.
I will be the first to admit that after the Purdue game I thought Greene would reach 2,000 yards. I figured he would go for 225 or so at Kinnick North, meaning he'd need 190 in Tampa...but after being pulled in Minnesota after only 144 yards, Greene is going to need a monstrous day to get 2,000.
Current numbers: 1,729 yards on 278 carries.
Assuming the Hawkeyes draw OBC and the 'Cocks in Tampa, what're the odds that a defense that allows 128.7 YPG gets ripped open for 271, and makes Pat Forde look like a supergenius?
