I just realized something
the best team we’ve fielded since KF came on board was The Brad Banks Boys (plus the greatest defense in history), right? Why was that? Because he (BB) only played ONE year and he came from a JC (where he was coached up by someone else…). Tate’s best year (not statistically but by wins) was his first (also enjoyed a great defense)..and got worse and worse until he left. Maybe Kirk is right…it IS his fault!

in the second half, right? This team could be pretty good if they could just eliminate those mistakes.
On a positive note...
1) Kicking game actually looked good today. No mistakes, long punts, couple touchbacks.
2) Greene. Of course. Exposes Heisman fraud Javon “FOURTH QUARTER BEAST” Ringer.
3) TEs play well for the most part. Moeaki semi-productive, Myers pretty good.
4) No fumbles by anyone except Swingin’ Dick.
5) Showed some heart in coming back.
6) Defense played tough all day. Forced a pick for once, shut down Heisman “favorite”
7) Brodell. Big catch for TD. Fair runback average.

The only two problems were bad playcalling on short yardage situations and totally careless play by Stanzi in the first half. If Iowa gets into the end zone at least one of those two drives, they probably win.

Tough loss, we're almost there though.
I think they made the right call on 4th down. I know, take the FG and the points, play for OT, but I really thought they had them right where they wanted them. Shonn Greene is a man, and SDS just needs a little more seasoning, he played a very good second half. I’ll take SG on 4th and 1 every time.
Yeah, this is really close to being a good team
A few plays here and there break our way and we’re 6-0. It’s frustrating, but at least it’s better than last year when we just straight up sucked. The schedule only gets harder, but Penn State is the only team I feel like is a lot better than us, and it’s not like they’ve been great against Iowa under Ferentz. This feels like it could be similar to one of those Ferentz-teams from the glory period where they struggled early but eventually figured things out and went on a run late. Plus, they’re still very young, so look out next year if Greene comes back (too soon?).
